The two essential ingredients are a venue, and someone to co-ordinate the group, the Lunchmaster.

The Lunchmaster

Home Aloners is composed of a number of autonomous groups who meet locally, and are organised by one person, known as the Lunchmaster.

Anybody wishing to create a group, and become the local Home Aloners Lunchmaster ideally should:

- work from home, and have the time to devote one or two days per month to running the group

- be computer literate

- have access to the Internet

The Lunchmaster's role:

- To place ads and get editorial in the appropriate local paper

- To find a suitable venue, and negotiate a deal with the proprietor

- To be responsible for running the lunch

- To collect subscriptions from new members, and ensure they are sent on to Home Aloners UK

- To forward details of the lunch (the new members details, diary info, news) to Home Aloners UK for inclusion on the Internet

- To produce and circulate a newsletter with all the current members' information, plus any news, and distribute it to group members

In support Home Aloner UK will:

- Provide continuous use of the name and logos, and access to the website

- Provide a pack containing brochures, stationery, logos, application-forms, press releases, posters, templates, adverts, business cards and instructions

- Create and service the website on the Internet

- Create a directory annually containing all the members details

- Research and develop any ideas or services considered beneficial for members

Responsibilities & Remuneration

- There is a licence fee for each group of £100 payable to Home Aloners UK, which can be paid over the year in ten instalments of £10.

- There is an annual subscription of £20 per member, payable to Home Aloners UK.

- The subscription is divided equally between Home Aloners UK and the local group. Payment is made to Home Aloners UK, and 50% is returned to the group

- 10% of every lunch, be it member or guest, goes to the local group.

- Any revenue accrued should cover any expenses incurred by the group, in advertising, postage, the Lunchmaster's time etc. The residue should go towards the Christmas party.

- The Lunchmaster takes care of the money in his own bank account, and is accountable for it.

- Any activity that takes place under the auspices of Home Aloners should be legal and ethical. Home Aloners UK Ltd reserves the right to terminate the licence of any person or group who are considered to be at variance with this concept.
